Beliefs and practices of the inhabitants of the Italian peninsula from ancient times until the ascendancy of Christianity in the 4th century CE. It is influenced by religions of ancient Italic cultures, especially those of other Latin tribes, of the non–Indo-European Etruscans, as well as by that of the Greek colonizers of Sicily and southern Italy.
